In
this paper, the various aspects of using fine Dummy Models have been
discussed along with the advantages and limitations.
Comparison of
results having different mesh sizes have been compared for the EuroSID
2 model.

This
paper describes a series of projects launched during the last 15 years
to develop finite element dummy models.
The activities have been
initiated and guided by the working group of the German Association for
Automotive Research
(FAT). The projects result in various finite
element dummy models, which are frequently used world wide in the
development of Restraint Systems. The paper summarizes the methods
adopted and gives an overview on the models
and its continuous
enhancements.
