Figure 13 shows the spine box from the back. The inner part of the backplate load cell is connected to the spine. The outer part is the adaptor to the back plate. A discrete beam between the two parts measures the forces and moments.

Figure 14 shows the back plate assembly and a plane cut in y-direction. The discrete beam is located between the inner and outer part of the load cell. The local components to determine the forces and moments are shown in the table below:
