ES-2/re Model Validation on FAA Requirements for Aircraft Side Impact with LS-DYNA

Alexander Schif, Yupeng Huang, Sebastian Stahlschmidt -- DYNAmore GmbH
This paper shows some detail about a new aerospace related sled test used for the validation of the ES-2/re dummy v8.0.2. This includes input configurations, release notes and performance checks. Additionally CORA ratings of the ES-2/re dummy are introduced.

Ideas on Applying very fine models in Dummy Model Development

Uli Franz, Alexander Gromer, Jens Bommel -- DYNAmore GmbH
Matthias Walz -- Daimler AG
Yupeng Huang -- Sunrise Auto Safety Technology
In this paper, the various aspects of using fine Dummy Models have been discussed along with the advantages and limitations.
Comparison of results having different mesh sizes have been compared for the EuroSID 2 model.

15 Years of Finite Element Dummy Model Development within the FAT

Uli Franz, Sebastian Stahlschmidt -- DYNAmore GmbH
Prof. Dr. Erich Schelkle -- Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG
Thomas Frank -- Daimler AG

This paper describes a series of projects launched during the last 20 years to develop finite element dummy models. The activities have been initiated and guided by the working group of the German Association for Automotive Research (FAT). The projects result in various finite element dummy models, which are frequently used world wide in the development of Restraint Systems. The paper summarizes the methods adopted and gives an overview on the models and its continuous enhancements.
