General Information

Detailed finite element side impact dummy models of the USSID, EUROSID and ES-2 have been developed in cooperation with the German Association for Automotive Research (FAT). The development project for the ES-2 model was launched in 2001.The major goal of the development was to achieve a high degree of accuracy of the models, followed by 'stability' criteria in order to avoid numerical instabilities. The schedule and the focus of the development for the LS-DYNA models were mainly determined by the LS-DYNA user group within the FAT. Other participants in the project were : Audi,Autoliv,BMW,Bosch,Continental,Ford,Karmann,Keiper,Recaro,Daimler, Opel, Porsche, Siemens, TRW and Volkswagen.

 

  • ES-2 Model

The development and validation has been performed on different platforms. The following LS-DYNA versions have been used:

The numbering scheme of the original model is shown below. The IDs below refer to the ES-2re model including the optional nulls shells. On request, we deliver the input decks renumbered according to your specifications.
